Nestled amongst a dense plantation in the client’s garden, the study is conceived to blend in and disappear with the environment. Structural elements are placed perpendicular to the approach and views. Minimal trees were allowed to be cut which resulted in a fluid and informal layering of spaces sensitively arranged on the terrain. The interior uses sensuous and natural material (African wenge timber wall panel, Chinese rustic yellow granite and Spanish pink coral stone) to enhance the layering and flow. The main study area has a 1-meter eco-pond which can be appreciated sitting down from the sofa, and is flanked by a 7-meter high aviary that houses 150 tropical birds.
